Celine Song, known for her directorial debut with the Oscar-nominated film Past Lives, is currently immersed in filming her next project, a romantic drama titled The Materialists. Set in the vibrant backdrop of New York City, the movie depicts the journey of a matchmaker entangled in a romantic link with a wealthy man while concealing feelings for a past relationship. Starring Hollywood stars Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal in lead roles, the film’s production is in full swing.
Behind-the-scenes photos have surfaced, leaving fans eager to witness the trio’s on-screen chemistry. Recent set images reveal Dakota’s dynamic rapport with both Pedro Pascal and Chris Evans. Now, additional pictures from the set have emerged online, depicting Chris and Dakota arriving separately at the County Clerk’s Office alongside crew members, gearing up to film pivotal scenes for the upcoming movie.
As the two stars arrived at the courthouse, paparazzi captured the Fifty Shades actress in a grey robe, green sneakers, and sunglasses. Meanwhile, the Captain America star appeared fully prepared for filming in a smart white formal shirt, navy tie, pants, and black shoes. While the specific characters of Johnson, Pascal and Evans have not been officially disclosed yet, leaked photos suggest that Chris will portray Dakota’s wealthy partner, while The Last of Us actor will depict her former boyfriend.
Apart from Chris Evans, Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal, The Materialists also features Zoe Winters and Dasha Nekrasova from Succession, along with The Gilded Age star Louisa Jacobson. According to Variety, Celine Song has teamed up again with A24, Killer Films and 2AM after Past Lives for the upcoming film. Currently, the official release date has not been disclosed.
On the work front, Chris is set to appear in Honey Don’t and a Christmas movie titled Red One, where he will star alongside Dwayne Johnson. Dakota, on the other hand, will be seen opposite Sean Penn in Daddio. Meanwhile, Pedro will reprise his character as Joel in The Last of Us season 2. He will also appear in Gladiator 2 and the Mandalorian & Grogu Movie, among others.
