Naomi Campbell Throws Shade At ‘Other Lady’ Anna Wintour At NYC Fashion Event

The Harlem’s Fashion Row Fashion Show & Style Awards in New York City recently turned heads with its high-profile guests and glamorous designs. One of the night’s highlights was supermodel Naomi Campbell receiving the prestigious Fashion Icon Award. However, the evening took a dramatic turn when Anna Wintour, who was initially set to present Campbell with her award, chose to point out the supermodel’s punctuality. By the time Naomi arrived, Anna had already left and Samira Nasr, the editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar, stepped in to give Campbell her award. When Naomi finally took the stage to accept her award, she made a bold statement, by taking a jab at Anna and referred to the fashion icon as the “other lady.”

As per the videos circulating online, the Vogue editor initially said, “I am a very punctual person. I have the honour of presenting tonight to someone who is often late.” However, when the supermodel arrived and gave her acceptance speech, she opened by taking a dig at Anna. She said, “I want to say this. Everything’s going to work out the way it’s going to work out. It wasn’t my choice to have the other lady. I’d much rather have this.”

As per USA Today, Naomi Campbell added, “I have to speak my truth. I’ve always been unapologetically truthful, so why should I change it now at this age.” Interestingly, even Samira Nasr decided to have some fun and pointing towards Naomi’s punctuality, she jokingly said, “Yes, Naomi’s always late. But I believe in my high power and I want to thank my higher power for having me be here.”

Following the high profile clash, sources told TMZ that Anna Wintour had asked to adjust the award presentation early because she wanted to attend the US Open. However, Naomi Campbell wasn’t aware about this and the reason why Anna departed early from the event. The source mentioned that Campbell was disappointed, which led her to make some negative comments during her acceptance speech. Naomi was not only frustrated with Wintour but she was also frustrated that the designers wouldn’t get a chance to impress Anna with their work.
