Poonam Pandey No More: Pooja Bhatt Calls Her Death 'Tragic', Says 'I Never Met Her But...'

Pooja Bhatt also took to her X handle to mourn the death of Poonam Pandey. The actress called Pandey’s death “tragic” and offered her condolences to the family. Pooja mentioned that even though she never met Lock Upp fame, it is “devastating” to know about the loss.

“So tragic to hear about #PoonamPandey I had never met her but when life claims someone so young it is always devastating. My prayers & deepest condolences to her family, friends & everyone whose life she impacted,” she wrote.

Poonam Pandey passed away on Thursday, February 1. The news of her death was first revealed in a post shared on her official Instagram handle. “This morning is a tough one for us. Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared,” the post read.

Several celebrities have expressed grief following the death of Pandey. Earlier today, Kangana Ranaut took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “This is so sad, losing a young woman to cancer is a catastrophe. Om Shanti.” Lock Upp Jailer, Karan Kundrra also told Times Now, “Oh my god! I have no idea about this. How did it happen? It is very sad and heartbreaking news.”

Poonam Pandey’s Lock Upp co-contestant Munawar Faruqui also wrote on X, “Shocking! can’t process the news Poonam was great human being. Sad. RIP.”

Actress Sambhavna Seth also spoke to News18 exclusively and confessed she was unaware of her cancer diagnosis. “Oh my god! I knew her. We have done Khatron Ke Khiladi together. I met her last year. We actually would keep meeting sometimes socially or at an event. But she never mentioned that she was going through any problems. It’s absolutely unbelievable, I still can’t digest it,” she said.
