Popular actor Shantanu Maheshwari recently jetted off to France to unveil the first look of Love in Vietnam at the 77th Cannes Film Festival. He also shared the poster of the film in an Instagram post. The post, in one of the pictures, showcased the actor posing with the team associated with Love In Vietnam. For the unveiling of his debut International project, the Gangubai Kathiawadi took a traditional route with a Chikankari outfit. However, it has a contemporary twist.
For his first Cannes look, Shantanu trusted ace designer Shahab Durazi and picked a sleek and modern shacket from his collections. The traditional shacket got its share of bling through intricate embellishments meticulously done using pearl and crystal beading. The detailing on the shacket featured lily flowers and Indian paisley patterns, inspired by the designs from the post-Mughal Kashmir region. He paired the shacket with solid matching pants, adding a contemporary touch to his overall look.
For further styling, Shantanu opted for beautiful rustic tribal silver jewelry. He grabbed the accessories from Jaypore. Not to forget his timeless monk shoes enhanced with hand-painted prints encapsulating the essence of the cityscape of Kolkata.
Shantanu’s Love In Vietnam also features Avneet Kaur and Vietnamese actress Kha Ngan in the lead roles. The first poster of the film showcases the three protagonists with Shantanu and Avneet gazing at each other lovingly and Kha playing a guitar. The second poster hinted at a complex love story between the influencer and the Gangubai Kathiawadi actor looking in the opposite direction. Below them is Kha’s picture looking at the camera, signifying the underlying emotions in her role.
Love In Vietnam marks the production debut of Omung Kumar. It is based on the bestseller Madonna in A Fur Coat. Besides this, Shantanu will also be seen alongside Khushalii Kumar in the upcoming psychological thriller Crossfire. Helmed by director Harish Raut, the film promises a mix of suspense and heartfelt drama with a guaranteed engaging cinematic journey.
