Showsha Reel Awards 2024: Ayushmann Khurrana, Vijay Raaz Among Nominees for Best Actor in Comic Role

The most awaited News18 Showsha Reel Awards are finally back. The award ceremony, which is happening on March 9, will be seen giving honours to the best talents in the comic role of the industry. The category features a lineup of talented nominees poised to steal the spotlight.

Ayushmann Khurrana, known for his impeccable comic timing, has been nominated for his performance in a comic role in Dream Girl 2. Versatile actor Vijay Raaz has also been nominated for the same film. Well, check out the other nominees here:

Ayushmann Khurrana: He is one such actor who has always proved his acting skills in all genres and Dream Girl 2 serves as an example of it. The actor cross-dressed in the film, pushing himself out of his comfort zone to crack up some laughs. His character Pooja has left a mark on audiences’ minds.

Anubhav Singh Bassi: The actor was seen in Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar which starred Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor in the lead role. Anubhav Singh Bassi plays the role of Ranbir’s bestfriend. Known for his impressive comic timing, Bassi adds a different charm to the role.

Vijay Raaz: He was seen in one of the pivotal roles in Dream Girl 2. Dream Girl 2 produced by Ektaa R Kapoor & Shobha Kapoor under Balaji Telefilms, is directed by Raaj Shaandilyaa. Vijay played the role of Saajan Tiwari alias Sona Bhai and emerged as one of the most memorable characters in the film.

Varun Sharma: He is one of the important characters in the Fukrey series. His role ‘Choocha’ gains main attraction in the third installment of Fukrey 3. Varun Sharma’s performance was loved by fans.

Richa Chadha: Better known as Bholi Punjaban, Richa Chadha gained huge attention for her performance. In Fukrey 3 too, she was seen entertaining the audience. The film, which was released in September last year, took audiences on a laughter-filled joyride once again.

Boman Irani: The actor doesn’t need any introduction. He has carved a niche for himself and is known as a versatile actor. His performance in Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki also received immense love from the audience. The film was released in December 2023 and his performance was praised by many.

Sharib Hashmi: Known for his impeccable comic timing and performance, Sharib Hashmi shined in Zara Hatke Zara Bachke even in the few comedy scenes he was offered. He held the spotlight oh-so-easily in the scenes he was given.
