This 2010 Bollywood Film, Starring Salman Khan And Mithun Chakraborty, Was A Box Office Disaster
According to reports, the film was made on a budget of Rs 63 crore.

Salman Khan has been in Bollywood for over three decades. Over the years, he has been involved in some blockbuster flicks, which have been a great source of joy for his fans. Do you know this superstar also has faced failures at the box office? In fact, some of his failures have been outright box office disasters. One such film was released in 2010. It was an epic period drama directed by Anil Sharma. That had been a huge hit, and there was a lot of buzz around this film as well. Can you guess the film? It is Veer, and it’s not a big-screen project Salman Khan fans want to remember. According to reports, Veer was made on a budget of Rs 63 crore. It could not even make a profit at the box office, and turned out to be a disaster. Veer’s collection amounted to a mere Rs 38.14 crore. This was also the debut film of Zarine Khan, who played the female lead. Apart from Salman Khan, the film also featured Mithun Chakraborty, Jackie Shroff and Sohail Khan in the lead roles.

Talking about the reason for the film to turn into an absolute disaster, it is said that there were many changes in the story of Veer. Salman Khan played the lead role. This movie was set in the backdrop of 1875. In this, Salman Khan played the role of a Pindari warrior who raises his voice against the British Empire. Mithun Chakraborty played the role of Salman Khan’s father.

The makers had spent crores of rupees to make Veer. Huge sets were built during the making of the film and were made on a large scale. There was tremendous hype about Veer before its release. Trade pundits believed that Anil Sharma was going to give another super hit film like Gadar, but things turned out to be the opposite at the box office.

After its release, Veer received negative reviews from critics. Even the audience did not like the film, which affected its box office collection. The film could not even recover its cost at the box office.

Veer was released in theatres on January 22, 2010. According to reports, Veer was made on a budget of Rs 63 crore, and the total earnings in India were only Rs 38.14 crore. Along with this, the total collection of the film worldwide was limited to Rs 61 crore. After the failure of Veer, Salman Khan and Anil Sharma never worked together again.
