Shah Rukh Khan was recently honoured with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland.

Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom is incomparable. The superstar was recently honoured with the prestigious Pardo Alla Carriera Award at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland. His loyal fans are over the moon about his latest achievement. SRK’s manager, Pooja Dadlani, shared a clip from the Q&A session at the film festival where the star discussed his love of cinema.

A latest clip shows Shah Rukh Khan taking his place on the stage at the film festival, and the audience burst out cheering for him. The host begins by asking the star when he realised he was in love with cinema. The ‘Bollywood’s Baadshah’ recalled his journey and stated, “I don’t think I ever thought I wanted to be an actor.” He mentioned that back in the 80’s “watching a film was a big deal.” and his mother used to be a movie fan.

Shah Rukh added that they owned a video cassette player gifted by his mother’s sister. He recalled how he would press his mother’s feet, and they watched movies on the television together. King Khan also mentioned the first time he went to watch a movie in the theatre. He stated how his mother promised to take him if he scored well in his Hindi exam.

Shah Rukh mentioned that once his parents died, he wanted to leave the city. He came to Mumbai with the dream of becoming a film director. But with the advent of television shows in India, he gradually shifted to acting. He moved on to answer questions related to his filmography over the years as well.

The special honour was given to Shah Rukh Khan this Saturday. Accepting the award, Shah Rukh sarcastically stated how he was honoured to receive an award that he could not even pronounce. He said, “This award here, which, for the life of me, I’ve been trying… I can’t pronounce it.”

When the host helped him with the pronunciation, he joked, “The Leopard award for being the most awesome in the world, in the history of humility and kindness and goodness.” Further sharing his insights into the world of cinema, he stated, “I truly believe cinema has been the most profound and influential artistic medium of our age.”

On the professional front, the actor is preparing to begin shooting his next film, King. Sujoy Ghosh will direct the action film and reportedly, it also stars Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
