Hailing from a star-studded family, Govinda scaled higher in terms of success than his predecessors. Apart from his acting prowess, the actor is also extremely religious and is proud to have his parents’ blessings that made him the most loved actor in the 1990s and 2000s. While recalling the early days of his career, he revealed the uncanny predictions of his mother, Nirmala Devi. Do you know that she predicted Govinda’s stardom and her own death?

In an earlier interview with Bombay Times, Govinda said that her mother turned to spirituality during her pregnancy. Nirmala Devi made the actor chant Gayatri Mantra 48 lakh times between the ages of 14 and 21. He was so attached to his mother that his relatives often used to wonder about his future. Govinda claims that her mother’s predictions were always on point. Govinda said that when he was 17, Nirmala Devi predicted, “When you will be 21, you will do kamaal (amazing)”. He signed his first film at the age of 21 years. He debuted in Bollywood with the movie Love86 in 1986. It was commercially successful at the box office. After this, the actor signed 49 films within 50 days after the release of his first film.

Govinda further claimed that Nirmala Devi predicted the death of his older sister Padma JiJi (Krushan Abhishek’s mother) who used to look after him during the absence of his mother. The actor’s mother predicted that Padma Jiji would die after delivering her second child Arti. After giving birth to Arti, Padma died due to cancer. “Then one day mummy predicted her death to me. I was very hassled. Three months later, she died exactly when she said she would,” said Govinda. Nirmal Devi died on June 15, 1996.

Govinda was last seen in the movie Rangeela Raja in 2019.
