Yash Reviews Kalki 2898 AD: ‘It’s A Visually Stunning Spectacle’

Kalki 2898 AD, a sci-fi mythological thriller, its getting positive response from both celebrities and cinema lovers. The first part of a planned trilogy is inspired from the Hindu mythology. It follows a brave group on a mission to protect an unborn child named Kalki from the powerful SUM-80. After Rajinikanth, Suriya and Alia Bhatt, Kannada superstar Yash has shared his review. He said that the movie is “a visually stunning spectacle”. Yash also gave a shout out to Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan and Amitabh Bachchan. The KGF star also congratulated the entire team behind Nag Ashwin’s ambitious project.

Yash, on X (formerly Twitter), wrote, “Kudos to the Kalki 2898AD team for creating a visually stunning spectacle. This film paves the way for more creative storytelling. Nag Ashwin and Vyjayanthi Films, your vision and courage will inspire many to take bigger strides. Watching Darling Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan sir, Kamal Haasan sir and Deepika Padukone and some surprise cameos together is an incredible experience. Congratulations to everyone involved in bringing this film together, it trulys lights up the screen.”

Kalki 2898 AD debuted with an impressive box office earnings of Rs 95.3 crore in India, while the overseas collections stood at Rs 61 crore. On its first day alone, the film collected Rs 114 crore, according to Sacnilk.

Earlier, Nag Ashwin revealed why he named the film Kalki 2898 AD. The filmmaker explained, “Our film starts in Mahabharat and ends in 2898. That’s the title of the film. It spans 6000 years sort of distance in time. We are trying to create the worlds that are there, imagining what it could be like. We will still keep it Indian and our challenge is not to make it look like Blade Runner.”

Kalki 2898 AD’s plot is set in the ancient city of Kashi, 1000 of years after Mahabharat. In the movie, Prabhas plays the role of a hunter on a mission to find Sumathi (Deepika Padukone), a pregnant woman on the run. However, his journey get hindered by Ashwattama (Amitabh Bachchan), who is determined to protect Sumathi and her unborn child.

Alongside the main cast, Kalki 2898 AD also features intriguing cameos of actors including Disha Patani, SS Rajamouli, Ram Gopal Verma, Dulquer Salmaan, Vijay Deverakonda and Mrunal Thakur.
