Jaideep Ahlawat Says Cameraman Nearly Fell While Taking Kareena Kapoor's Closeup: 'Hard To Look Into Her Eyes'
Jaideep Ahlawat said that once a cameraperson was trying to take a closeup of Kareena Kapoor Khan for Jaane Jaan but tripped and nearly fell.

As Kareena Kapoor Khan celebrates her 43rd birthday on Thursday, September 21, the day also marks another special occasion in the actress’ life. The day also marks the release date of Kareena’s OTT debut, Sujoy Ghosh’s Jaane Jaan. The film also features Jaideep Ahlawat and Vijay Varma. The three actors cannot seem to stop praising one another in interviews ahead of the film’s release. In one such interaction, Jaideep recalled an incident when a cameraperson was so enamoured by Kareena’s beauty that he almost tripped and fell on set.

Talking to Film Companion, Jaideep said, “It’s very hard to look into her eyes and not admire (her beauty).” Recalling the incident, Jaideep said, “There was a shot where I open the door and she is there. They’re trying for a closeup. The cameraman is standing, the camera is on his shoulder. Action was called, the door opened, and he nearly fell down. I made fun of him all day. I said, ‘You think it’s easy looking into those eyes?'”

Kareena, who was also present, said, “What rubbish.” However, Sujoy quipped, “Kenny could’ve died. He almost fell, he could’ve died. Then we would have to look for another cinematographer; we didn’t have the budget. And Taimur is too small to lift the camera.'”

Jaane Jaan is an adaptation of the Japanese novel The Devotion of Suspect X by Keigo Higashino. The mystery thriller marks Kareena’s digital debut after a stellar career in films spanning more than 20 years.

Kareena had told the Free Press Journal in an earlier interview that she always wanted to do a thriller with Sujoy after she watched his film Kahaani, headlined by Vidya Balan. “This film has been with Sujoy for ten years but when he couldn’t put the cast together, he put this film on the back burner. I am happy that everything has fallen into place. I always wanted to do a thriller with Sujoy as he did a good job in Kahaani. This was a perfect thriller with the right mood for us,” she said.

Meanwhile, Kareena was spotted at the airport earlier this week as she jetted off for a vacation with husband Saif Ali Khan and their kids Taimur and Jeh. Interestingly, Jaane Jaan was first offered to Saif in 2015 who couldn’t do the film due to other commitments. Now, years later, it is a milestone project in Kareena’s repertoire.
