India’s best and one of the best batters of all time, the ‘Master Blaster’, Sachin Tendulkar was presented with the ‘Golden Ticket’ by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jay Shah ahead of the ICC ODI World Cup set to take place from October.
BCCI shared a picture of Secretary Jay Shah presenting the ticket to Sachin Tendulkar as a part of their newly launched “Golden Ticket For India Icons” program on their official X, formerly known as Twitter, handle.

Tendulkar is without doubt the most iconic batter of his era and arguably of all time, and the Indian relished the biggest stages the most. The Master Blaster, who won the coveted World Cup in 2011, has notched over 2200 runs across six editions of the tournament, the most runs scored by any batter in the history of the World Cup.
Twice, the Master Blaster has ended a World Cup tournament as the leading run-getter. He did it in the 1996 World Cup, making 523 runs in 7 games, and bettered it in the 2003 edition, where he made 673 runs. Unfortunately, despite his exceptional efforts, India was not able to clinch the World Cup on both occasions. He was successful in the 2011 World Cup as well, scoring 482 runs, which was just 18 runs shy of Dilshan’s tally of 500 runs.
Another icon of India who was presented with the Golden Ticket earlier this week was none other than Big B, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan.
