David Beckham attended the India vs New Zealand World Cup 2023 semifinal at the Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, after which, the Ambani family hosted the Manchester United legend at their residence in Mumbai on Thursday. Beckham is on a three-day visit to India as part of his tour as UNICEF’s Goodwill Ambassador.
The legendary footballer was in attendance for the high-octane clash between India and New Zealand which saw the Men in Blue prevail in the semifinal and reach the summit clash to be played on November 19.
Legendary Indian opener Sachin Tendulkar gave Beckham a mini-tour of the Wankhede Stadium, the Englishman had a mini-football session with a few Indian players, and later he was seated in the stands watching greatness unfold as Virat Kohli surpassed Tendulkar’s record for most ODI hundreds.

Beckham also congratulated Kohli, attended multiple events in Mumbai on Wednesday, followed by his visit to the Antilla on Thursday. Mumbai Indians owners Ambani family welcomed David to their residence, and they gifted the legendary footballer a custom-made Mumbai Indians ‘number 7’ jersey.

In an interview with BCCI, Beckham described his first visit to India during the World Cup semifinal, the 48-year-old was in awe of the atmosphere at the Wankhede Stadium.
David Beckham has been representing UNICEF and promoting their development programs during his current trip. The icon has been busy visiting several cities in Gujarat, talking and interacting with multiple children. “I think the whole experience from the people, the children, the food, the energy here in the stadium and being here for Diwali and the New Year and the Cricket World Cup, it couldn’t have been any more perfect,” Beckham told BCCI.
