At least 23 Army officers have been reported missing after a flash flood in North Sikkim that was triggered by a cloudburst. NDRF has been deployed for search and rescue operation. A cloudburst over Lhonak Lake in North Sikkim led to the flash flood in Teesta River in Lachen valley. Some Army establishments along the valley have been affected and efforts are on to confirm details. Sikkim CM Prem Singh Tamang also took stock of the situation after the flash flood hit Singtam. As many as 23 soldiers of the Indian Army went missing after a sudden cloudburst over Sikkim’s Lhonak Lake on Wednesday. The cloud burst triggered a flash flood in the Teesta River in Lachen Valley.
