Studying abroad can be financially challenging for many meritorious students who often opt out due to the expensive course fee, visa charges, accommodation and food expenses. Therefore, scholarships help many to pursue their dreams.
News18 ‘Scholarship Guide’ brings the best and most prestigious grants for Indian students to study abroad, with most of them covering flight tickets, accommodation and course fee; and some also providing stipend.
Getting admission to a top-rated college is a dream of many Indian students. These institutes not only offer quality education but aids or grants to students who cannot afford them.
Dhriti Prasanna Mahanta, Vice-President, TeamLease Degree Apprenticeship, advised students to narrow down their course options before looking at the finance. “If a course is more employable, there are better changes of getting higher funding,” Mahanta said.
He also stressed on skilling and re-skilling with changing trends. “For India to become a superpower, it needs to focus on skilled education. India’s fiscal deficit cannot be resolved till its skills deficit is solved.”
He also suggested that students should look at non-traditional options such as apprenticeship programmes, which are offered in hybrid as well as online modes as these courses are employment focussed and are relatively more affordable as compared to brick-and-mortar based degrees. He also suggested that these non-traditional courses are getting more and more popular as hiring managers are shifting from degree to skill-based hiring.
