The Indian men’s cricket team dressing room was a happy place to be after their impressive win over Australia in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. The former champions began their campaign in Chennai and registered a six-wicket win but not before Australia gave them a mighty scare.
Recovering from 2/3, India chased down the target of 200 in 41.2 overs to secure their first points of the world cup 2023 that got underway last week when New Zealand thrashed defending champions England in Ahmedabad.

India first bowled out Australia for 199 and then through the 165-run stand for the fourth wicket between KL Rahul and Virat Kohli recorded their first win of the competition.
A clip was shared by the Indian cricket team on their Instagram account showing a small medal ceremony held to award the best fielder of the match.
India fielding coach T Dilip handed over the first ever medal for fielding as he lauded the efforts of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer before picking Kohli for the award.

Kohli was in no mood to just receive the medal, he asked Dilip to put it around his neck and then took a bite out of it as he showed off his prize to cheering team-mates.
“At last we got some award (fielding). In today’s game, Ishan, outstanding diving,” Dilip said.
Hardik Pandya though teased Ishan saying ‘tera nahi hai‘ (Not yours).
“Shreyas was outstanding with two catches,” the fielding coach continued amidst loud clapping.
“Something we keep speaking about is consistency. It’s not about one catch, overall intensity, backing up. It’s not only doing your job but also making sure you encourage and keep the right fielders at right places. This one goes to Virat,” Dilip concluded.
Kohli took a excellent diving catch in the slips earlier in the match to get rid of Australia opener Mitchell Marsh for 0 and was excellent throughout the contest which was played in sweltering heat of Chennai.
Kohli then starred with the bat too, hitting 85 to play a pivotal role in his team’s winning start to the world cup.
