New Delhi: Congress leader Digvijaya Singh attacked Bharatiya Janata Party's chief ministerial candidate Narendra Modi over Sardar Patel's legacy, saying the Gujarat chief minister's fascination with the latter has forced him to wonder whether the BJP leader has ditched RSS ideology.
"Is Narendra Modi ditching RSS icons Golwalkar, Dindayal Uppadhyay and Shyamaprasad Mukharji? Now trying to hijack Patel's legacy?" tweeted Digvijaya Singh.
He also took a swipe on the factual errors committed by the Gujarat leader on Sardar Patel. "Cant blame Modi. This is what RSS indoctrinates its cadres history as RSS sees it!" wrote Digvijaya.
The Congress leader, however, chose to defend veteran singer Lata Mangeshwar on her views on Modi, saying that she was entitled to her political views. Mangeshkar had on Friday said that she wanted Modi to become the prime minister of the country. "I hope Narendra Modi becomes the next Prime Minister," said Mangeshkar.
Meanwhile, while replying to melody queen's support, Modi said , "I got a letter from Lata didi and her letter is a big gift for me".
