Lok Sabha Election 2024: Documents Required for Voting, How to Check Your Polling Booth | Details

The election season is all set to begin as Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar and other officers announced the Lok Sabha elections and assembly poll schedule at Delhi’s Vigyan Bhawan on Friday.

The CEC announced that Lok Sabha elections for 543 seats will be held in seven phases, from April 19 till June 1. The counting of votes will be held on June 4.

Apart from the Lok Sabha polls schedule, the Election Commission also announced the dates for the Andhra Pradesh and Odisha which will be held on May 13 and Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim where voting will be held on April 19.

Ahead of the polling season, there are some important details that every voter should be aware of.

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR VOTING

A person whose name is on the electoral roll can vote in the elections.

  • Voter ID
  • Driving license
  • Passport
  • Aadhar card
  • PAN card
  • MNREGA job card
  • Smart card issued by RGI under NPR
  • Passbook with a photograph issued by a state bank or post office
  • Service identity cards with photographs issued to employees by central/state
  • govt./PSU/public limited company
  • Pension document with photograph
  • Health insurance smart cards issued under the scheme of the Ministry of Labour
  • Official identity cards issued to MPs/MLAs/MLCs, etc.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR NAME ON ELECTORAL ROLL?

You can check your name on the electoral roll by following steps:.

  • Go to https: electoralsearch.eci.gov.in
  • Enter your state and select the preferred language
  • Fill in the details – name, surname, date of birth, gender
  • Select your district and assembly constituency
  • Enter the captcha code and click on search

HOW TO FIND YOUR POLLING BOOTH?

You can follow the steps given below and find your polling booth:

  • Visit https: electoralsearch.eci.gov.in
  • You will see three ways (find below) to check your polling booth.

SEARCH BY DETAILS

i) Enter your state and select the preferred language

ii) Fill in the details – name, surname, date of birth, gender

iii) Select your district and assembly constituency

iv) Enter the captcha code and click on search

SEARCH BY EPIC/VOTER ID CARD

a) Select Language

b) Fill in your EPIC Number/Voter ID card details

c) Select State

d) Enter the captcha code and click on search

SEARCH BY MOBILE

  1.  Select state
  2.  Select language
  3.  Fill in mobile number
  4. Enter OTP which you have received on your mobile number
  5. Enter the captcha code and click on search
