The debate on ripped jeans for women is far from getting over as Madhya Pradesh Tourism and Culture minister Usha Thakur too believes that such attires are ‘a bad omen’.
A hardliner Thakur did not forget to advise women to stay in limits. Recently, state agriculture minister Kamal Patel had backed Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat who had flayed women for putting on ripped jeans.
Thakur on Monday said that in Indian culture, putting on ripped clothes is considered bad omen. She went on to claim that MP girls mostly are restrained but those who put on ripped clothes they need to care for culture and sanskar.
To add, the statement from newly appointed Uttarakhand Chief Minister had rippled social media as women had flayed the remarks claiming they reserve the right to put on what they like. Social media platforms also were flooded with women flaunting ripped jeans in protest.
Meanwhile, opposition Congress party flayed the remarks from the Shivraj cabinet minister.
Party media cell vice president Bhupendra Gupta said that BJP leaders were feeling divine bliss. The BJP government has considered five lakh persons labourers so they need to care more for the ‘ripped’ situation of workforce rather than focussing on women’s clothing.
Meanwhile on Sunday, VHP senior leader Champat Rai who is also a trustee of Ram temple in Ayodhya had claimed that there won’t be any dress code for the women at the proposed grand temple in Ayodhya.
