Lok Sabha Election 2024: Kangana said that the people of Mandi will answer the Congress party when they vote in the upcoming polls

Bollywood actor and Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Lok Sabha candidate from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi, Kangana Ranaut, held a roadshow in the constituency on Friday and said that “everyone is my family”.

Speaking to reporters before starting her roadshow, Ranaut said that the people of Mandi are proud that “daughter of Mandi, the nationalist voice from Mandi will represent the constituency in this election.”

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Ranaut said, “Development is the main issue for BJP…The people of Mandi will show what is in their heart.”

The actor asked the people of Mandi to not think of her as a “heroine” or “star”. “Consider Kangana your sister, your daughter. Everyone is my family…,” she added.

The BJP candidate also hit out at the derogatory post made by Congress leader Supriya Shrinate and said that “those who put a price on your daughters can never be yours”. Jibing at the Opposition, Ranaut said, “Those who couldn’t be of Lord Ram, will never be able to be yours.”

People will tell what Mandi is, people will given an answer to the Congress when they vote, Kangana Ranaut said.

On the sidelines, the actor’s mother, Asha Ranaut, also expressed discontent over Shrinate’s post.

“She too has daughters and daughters-in-law at home,” Asha said, adding that a person should think that if someone speaks like that against their children, “how they would feel…”

“I too have that same pain in me…Why should I call out the entire party if one individual speaks derogatory language? Not everyone is bad,” Kangana’s mother added.

BJP’s Mandi candidate on Tuesday had responded to the row over Shrinate’s objectionable social media post against her and had said she would discuss the further court of action on the matter in a meeting with BJP President JP Nadda.

The now-taken down derogatory post on Instagram showed a photo of scantily-clad Kangana Ranaut, with a derogatory caption.

Shrinate later claimed that the social media post was made by someone who had access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts. The Congress leader also blamed a parody account that was misusing her name on X.

Ranaut had responded to the derogatory post on social media, saying “every woman deserves her dignity”.

The saffron party fielded actor Kangana Ranaut from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi in its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The Bollywood star is contesting from her birthplace.

She was born in Bhambla near Manali, which is a part of the parliamentary constituency of Mandi.

Last year, Kangana Ranaut had hinted at entering politics, saying if Lord Krishna blesses her, she would contest the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
