Bangalore: Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Sunday shot off a protest letter to the President, the Prime Minister and the Union Home Minister against Governor H R Bhardwaj's move to recommend central rule in the state, saying no attempt should be made to create a constitutional crisis when his
government has majority.
"The Governor is trying to destabilise the government by joining hands with opposition parties. I have written letters to the President, Prime Minister and Home Minister", Yeddyurappa told reporters.
The Chief Minister said he had convened a Cabinet meeting on Monday, which would be preceded by a meeting of the legislature party to take stock of the developments and to discuss future course of plans.
"Through some reliable source, I have learnt that the Governor has recommended for President's rule. Despite my government enjoying comfortable majority he has done it", Yeddyyrappa said, slamming Governor H R Bhardwaj's actions.
The Chief Minister said in his letter to President Pratibha Patil, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Union Home Minister P Chidambaram he had appealed that no attempt should be made to create a constitutional crisis when his government had majority.
