New Delhi: Looks like the day old Alphabet has already become a favourite target of tech bullies. A ban in China first and now, domain trolls.
The official web address of the new company which now houses Google is abc.xyz, however, changing it slightly leads to rival Microsoft’s bing homepage.
Although Microsoft doesn’t claim responsibility for the alleged attack with the abc.wtf domain name, but Whois entry, which locates IP servers, clearly shows the domain registered from an IP location belonging to the Redmond-based company.
It is unclear if it was some Microsoft employee who created the domain without the company's knowledge.
Another address abc.fail also redirects to the bing search engine. However, this domain has been registered from an IP location in Starnberg, Germany.
The newly launched company has been formulated to separate the Internet products from the more ambitious projects and entities including the Google X Labs and Calico.
Google remains unchanged, except for being slightly slimmed down with Sundar Pichai as the new CEO, while the parent Alphabet will now be run by Google founder Larry Page.
