MasterCard has released details on a new program that will turn wristbands, keyrings and jewellery into credit cards.
A promotional video demonstrates the different possibilities for the everyday consumer: A jogger, for instance, stops into a coffee shop to buy a bottle of water with the scan of her wearable Nymi wristband.
A busy commuter enters the subway system by simply scanning her ring at the turnstile. And at the grocery store, a General Motors key fob doubles as her credit card.

Collaborating partners in the program include GM, wearable technology brand Nymi, smart jewellery company Ringly, and Bluetooth locator Track.
