Sana Khan left fans shocked when she announced the news about quitting the entertainment industry to embark on a spiritual journey a few years back. She is now back in the headlines for her latest interaction with Rubina Dilaik on her YouTube podcast show Kisine Bataya Nahi. During the interaction, she delved into her decision to step away from showbiz while also reflecting on her experience as a mother to a baby boy. She revealed the story behind naming her son as Tariq Jamil.
The conversation began with Sana Khan congratulating Rubina Dilaik for delivering twins adding that she also wanted twins. She said, “Maine bola Allah aapne mujhe twins kyu nahi diya (I was like Allah why didn’t you give me twins). However, she also acknowledged that “God’s plans are better than humans” as now she realises that managing one baby is itself a big task.
On being asked about naming her son Tariq Jamil, Sana Khan revealed her admiration for a Muslim scholar named Tariq Jamil, listening to his preachings before quitting showbiz. She explained, “I used to listen to Jamil’s preachings and loved and admired his thoughts on life and his persona.” As the conversation continued, she also recalled how her husband Anas Saiyad made her meet the scholar. Upon their meeting, Sana was impressed by his humility and lack of judgment towards her, compelling her to name her son after him. Adding that the scholar did not have preconceived notions about her, she recalled, “He rather asked me about what’s happening in my industry, which left me in disbelief.”
In an interesting revelation, Sana Khan also shared that long before she and Anas were married, Tariq Jamil initiated the marriage proposal for them adding that she is grateful to the scholar for playing a key role in her union with her now husband.
Sana Khan has been married to Surat-based businessman Anas Saiyad since November 2020. In 2023, they embraced parenthood, welcoming a boy named Saiyad Tariq Jamil. Now, Sana is a businesswoman, founding Face Spa by Sana Khan and Haya By Sana Khan. Additionally, she and her husband jointly founded the Hayat Welfare Foundation, a charitable organisation for needy people.
