Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai's Jay Soni On His Exit From Show: 'I Couldn't Sleep That Night'

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai continues to captivate its fans with its ever-evolving storyline and dynamic star cast. The show is now poised for yet another exhilarating generation leap, leaving viewers on the edge of their seats. A recent plot twist saw the shocking demise of Abhinav (Played by Jay Soni) and Abhimanyu (Played by Harshad Chopda) being framed for his death. This change in the track leads to the exit of actor Jay Soni from the show. During his conversation with Siddharth Kanan, Jay Soni expressed his disappointment at having to leave the series.

Jay Soni said, “Yes, I was very disappointed. But what else can be done? Having worked in this industry for so long, it is very rare to miss the character that you play. I missed playing Abhinav in front of the camera. This character had a different mood each day, and it was exciting to portray the same. When I was informed about the exit track, I was really disappointed, and I couldn’t sleep that night. Having said that, I’m sure the track was written for the benefit of the show, so it’s ok.”

Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai bids farewell to its lead actors Harshad Chopda and Pranali Rathod as Samridhii Shukla and Shehzada Dhami step into the lead roles. Samridhii Shukla will play the character of Abhinav and Akshara’s daughter, Abhira, while actress Preeti Amin steps into the role of an older Akshara. Adding to the intrigue, the show will also see the inclusion of actors Shruti Rawat, Shruti Ulfat, and Sandeep Rajora as it takes a leap forward.

Previously, Star Plus unveiled a fresh promo of the show on Instagram and offered fans a look at Abhira’s character. In the promo, Abhira (Played by Samridhii Shukla) can be seen embodying a strong character. She is an aspiring lawyer who knows her duty and responsibilities well. She draws her inspiration from her parents, Abhinav and Akshara. However, the promo hints at a humorous twist as it shows Akshara (Played by Preeti Amin) grappling with her daughter’s unapologetic approach to life, which leaves her somewhat anxious.

The show made its debut on January 12, 2009, and has the distinction of being the longest-running Indian television soap opera.
