20-Year-Old British Woman Loses Nearly 48 Kg Following Simple Gym Routine. Know Her Mantra
The woman credited her success to determination and a strict routine that included weight training and regular incline treadmill walks.

Millie Slater, a 20-year-old marketing executive from Northamptonshire, England, has caught the internet’s attention with her incredible weight loss story. In January 2023, Millie claimed she weighed 114 kg, but she has shed nearly 48 kg and brought down her weight to 66 kg. The woman has been sharing her transformation on TikTok, which has inspired many.

Millie credited her success to determination and a strict routine that included weight training six times a week and careful calorie tracking. However, the secret to her losing weight faster is the regular incline treadmill walks. By focusing on a healthy diet and maintaining a proper workout schedule, she managed to reach her goal.

Speaking about her transformation, Millie told Newsweek, “I never really knew about calories, but I’m sure I’d be horrified if I knew how many I was consuming daily. I started doing incline walks on the treadmill and then got into weightlifting, which made the gym less boring. My training has varied a lot in the last year and a half, but I have continued to do incline walks as I have never been a runner.”

“Finding a form of exercise you enjoy is so important. I used to believe that I couldn’t run so I had no chance. But simply walking more and being more active is all you need. I also used to think that lifting weights would make me bulky, but this is not the case at all. I love how strong I feel, and it’s given me so much more confidence in myself. I never thought I’d be able to lose weight, especially this much. So I regularly have to remind myself of how far I’ve come and remind myself to be proud,” Millie Slater added.

Before starting her weight loss journey, Slater struggled with her weight and tried following various diets that didn’t work in her favour. After years of eating unhealthy snacks and fast food, she and her partner decided to change their habits. In January 2023, Slater began going to the gym, where she focused more on tracking her calories, which allowed her to enjoy treats like chocolate, as long as she stayed within her 1,500-calorie limit. The woman now advises others to find an exercise that they like and urges everyone to take progress photos to stay motivated.

Interestingly, a recent study in the Journal of Biomechanics found that walking on an incline can help burn more calories. According to the study, people burned 17% more calories at a 5% incline and 32% more at a 10% incline compared to walking on a flat surface.
