Despite being asked questions after completing the three-hour written test, students struggled to spell words like English and couldn't pronounce them.

In Bihar, a viral video showcasing students struggling to spell basic words during their board exams has stirred up social media. The clip features students who recently appeared for the intermediate examinations, particularly the English paper on February 3rd. Following the exam, a local reporter approached students outside examination centres to ask them simple spelling questions, only to find that many were unable to respond.

The video, shared on the Instagram page @bharatmanchlive, depicts the reporter quizzing students on basic English and political science spellings, revealing a surprising lack of knowledge among the participants. Despite being asked elementary questions after completing the three-hour written test, students struggled to spell words like English and even had difficulty pronouncing them. The caption accompanying the video reads, “The girl students who appeared for the English exam do not know the spelling of English!”

The video quickly gained traction on social media, prompting astonishment from viewers. Many expressed their surprise with shocked emojis, while others made sarcastic remarks about the state’s education system. Despite the mocking comments, the video garnered millions of views, highlighting the widespread attention it received.

In addition to the viral video, the Bihar Board has been making headlines for extending its initiative to provide free medical and engineering coaching to students beyond its board. Initially available only to Bihar Board students, this opportunity has now been extended to students affiliated with the CBSE and ICSE boards as well. This decision aims to broaden access to educational opportunities and support students from various academic backgrounds.

The dual narrative of students’ struggles in the viral video and the Bihar Board’s expansion of educational initiatives underscores the challenges and opportunities within Bihar’s education system. While the former highlights areas needing improvement, the latter showcases efforts to enhance educational access and support for students across different boards.
