Imagine earning crores of rupees from an investment of around Rs 3000. Sounds unbelievable, right? However, a man in China has left many shocked as his luck turned him into a millionaire within one day. The man ran a small business and hardly would have thought of earning even lakhs. In an exciting turn of development, his idea to invest money came to fruition and as a consequence, his bank balance has reached a whopping Rs 796 crore.

As per the report of South China Morning Post (SCMP), the 28-year-old man in China won a whopping 680-million-yuan (Rs 796 crore) lottery jackpot. Interestingly, he won the lottery by betting on the same group of seven numbers every time. interestingly, it has been claimed to be the biggest lottery jackpot in China. The man, who hails from Guizhou province in southwestern China, bought 133 tickets at 28 cents each. What came out as an exciting update, each of his tickets won a prize of $725,000 (around Rs 6 crores), the outlet reported.

The Chinese Man picked up his prize money on February 7. However, he will need to pay one-fifth of his lottery income in tax, as per the Individual Income Tax Law rules. Notably, the man’s lottery win of Rs 796 crore shattered China’s previous record of Rs 664 crore, won by a man living in Beijing in 2012.

The man says that he was informed about the massive win on his mobile phone at night. “At first I didn’t believe it, so I verified it several times. I was too thrilled to sleep,” he said. Excited to hear the news, he drove to Guiyang, the capital of Guizhou province, where he was invited to collect his prize-winning cheque.

“I’ve been researching the trend of numbers appearing in previous winning tickets. I chose some of those and added one of my lucky numbers to bet on. I have bet on this set of figures for a long time. I will share this good news with my family during the Spring Festival holiday,” said the man.
