The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad is currently accepting applications from women candidates only for Assistant Professor Posts in various departments. The openings are available in a total of 15 departments. Those interested can apply by visiting the official website of the institute at https://iith.ac.in/. The deadline to submit the application forms is Friday, December 22, 2023. Candidates must be under the age of 35; however, the age limit for Schedule Caste (SC) is relaxed to 40 years, and for Other Backward Class (OBC)/ Non-Creamy Layer (NCL) is 38 years.
The vacancy is open in several departments including Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Civil Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Design, Artificial Intelligence, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Entrepreneurship and Management, Liberal Arts, Mathematics, Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science and Metallurgical Engineering and Physics.
The institute clarified that it reserves the right to call for interviews only those applicants who have been shortlisted based on their qualifications, experience, research and publication records, and individual academic unit requirements. No applicant will be called for an interview based solely on their eligibility.
IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
For Assistant Professor Grade I (Pay level 12): A minimum of three years of post-PhD teaching/research/professional experience, excluding experience gained while pursuing a PhD, is required for Assistant Professor Grade I (Pay level 12). The applicant’s research abilities should be demonstrated through publications in reputable journals, conferences, and patents.
According to the 7th CPC, the minimum pay will be Rs 1,01,500 (Matrix pay level 12) plus all allowable allowances. They may be promoted to Pay Level 13A1 after three years of satisfactory service.
Assistant Professor Grade II (Pay level 10/11): Applicants with less than three years’ post-PhD industrial/research/teaching experience may apply for direct recruitment for Assistant Professor Grade II positions (Pay level 10/11). The basic pay will be fixed at Rs 98,200 plus allowances. It also stated that the applicant will be considered for the position of Assistant Professor Grade I after completing three years of post-PhD experience.
IIT Hyderabad Recruitment 2023: General Instructions For Candidates
– Applicants who applied within the last two years may highlight a significant improvement in their CV since the previous application.
– If a candidate is applying for a faculty position in more than one department, they must submit separate applications.
– Applicants who are called for a physical interview will be reimbursed for their airfare within India in Economy class from their residence to the shortest route.
