Former Russian Model Settled in Vrindavan Opens Up on 'Disturbing Stares' of Indian Men
In a YouTube interview, Sofya shared that while she enjoys life in Vrindavan, she sometimes feels upset due to the behavior of local Indian boys

Many foreign tourists come to visit Mathura and stay on for months or even years captivated by its spiritual essence. In a similar fashion, this Russian girl, once a model, has made Vrindavan, Mathura her home for the last few years, drawn to Indian culture and minimalistic living.

In an interview given to a YouTube channel, she shared that though she is enjoying her life at Vrindavan, at times she gets upset because of local Indian boys.

“I like the simple life in Vrindavan. But sometimes I get upset when boys look at me. Sometimes I get very irritated when Indian boys stare at me. Once, a guy was following me in Himachal. He was probably on a video call with his family. He started saying- Look, look, she is an Englishwoman and is wearing a sari. I got so angry that I called him crazy. He ran away after hearing me speaking in Hindi,” she said.

The YouTuber, Gautam Khattar spoke to this Russian girl in the interview. She has been living in Vrindavan from 2022. Her actual name is Sofya but she has changed it to Seema Ladhka Devidasi.

Speaking about her interest in Hindu culture, Seema (Sofya) said, “When I was 13-14 years old I read the Bhagwat Geeta. After this, I came to India in 2014 to learn the dance of Odisha state in India.”

Seema (Sofya) shared that she has been interested in Bhagwat Geeta and the Hindu culture from the very beginning. Hence she chose to come to Mathura instead of Odisha. At Mathura, she is learning Odissi dance. She has performed in many programs in the temple. Although she is a model by profession, she has taken a long break from it due to lack of time in Vrindavan.
