In Heartstopping Video, Bus Hangs From Bengaluru Flyover

A major accident was averted after a KSRTC bus collided with a divider of a flyover on the busy Bengaluru-Tumakuru highway on Saturday morning. Packed with passengers, the bus nearly fell off the flyover, however, it had a lucky save after it was left hanging at a height of over 40 feet from the ground.

While no fatalities occurred, reports suggest that around eight people including the driver and the conductor, sustained minor injuries. Videos going viral on the internet show the shocking visual of the bus handing mid-air miraculously saved from the fatal crash, leaving everyone in a state of panic.

While a video captured from under the flyover shows the bus in a hanging state, a few other pictures from the other side of the bridge reveal its overall position. According to the Nelamangala traffic police, the incident took place at the Adakamaranahalli junction near Arasinakunte after the driver suddenly lost control and ended up hitting the bridge wall, states a TOI report.

A car abruptly switched lanes in front of a bus, forcing the bus driver to swerve to avoid a collision. Unfortunately, this manoeuvre led to the bus losing control and colliding with the retaining wall of the flyover. The accident resulted in traffic coming to a standstill, causing delays for approximately an hour. The traffic was later cleared after all the passengers were safely evacuated.

While an investigation is being carried out to ascertain the actual cause of the accident, the videos have gone widely viral on the internet. Many even blamed the driver for his carelessness. A user wrote, “Most of the drivers use mobile even watch movies while driving,” while another commented, “The conductor could easily make out driver status/conditions accordingly d conductor cd plan/instruct to driver to prevent accidents. The conductor should not be silent spectator. A good amount of driving skills also required for conductor under these circumstances.”
