As the video unfolds, the tiger seizes the prey and carries it away in its mouth.

The Internet is filled with clips capturing spine-chilling encounters with wild animals. In yet another remarkable wildlife sighting, a video depicting a tiger utilising its keen sense of smell to hunt a fawn hiding in the grass has taken the internet by storm. The brief footage was shared by IAS officer Sanjay Kumar on X (formerly Twitter). As the video unfolds, viewers witness the swift moment when the tiger seizes its prey and carries it away in its mouth. The video was filmed at a resort in Uttarakhand’s Jim Corbett National Park.

“The hide & seek in the wild is a daily affair. The prey tries best to evade predators, & the latter at the top of the food chain maintains balance in the ecosystem. Here, a tiger smells out of a few days old fawn hiding in grasses in dhikala, Corbett TR,” IAS officer wrote.

As soon as the clip was dropped on X, social media users flocked to the comments section to express their views. “Tiger has a poor sense of smell compensated by sharp eyesight. Till he stumbled upon the kid he was walking aimlessly,” one of them mentioned.

“Glorious clip. This gorgeous tiger makes it look so easy. No wonder cats, big and small, are the most successful land predators,” wrote another.

“Absolutely! Nature’s game of hide & seek keeps the balance intact. The tiger’s keen senses reveal the hidden fawn. Ecosystem Balance,” a comment read.

Previously, the official Instagram account of the Ranthambore National Park shared a video capturing a tense moment when a tiger approached dangerously close to an open jeep. As the big cat neared the vehicle and began sniffing around it, several tourists inside the jeep panicked, shouting and urgently requesting the driver to keep a safe distance from the tiger.

The Ranthambore National Park wrote, “Watching the majestic creature so close was a lifetime experience for us. We got scared but T121 is a playful animal. He came close to us twice, showed his glory and stepped back. We will preserve this memory for the rest of our life.”

This startling video sent shivers down the spines of social media users.
