As per Michael's bio, he is a “kind, happy, curious, creative and a major nerd."

A New York based 33 year old software engineer named Michael has ditched the usual dating apps and opted for a more unique approach to find love. His plan led him to Facebook Marketplace, where he posted a personal ad featuring a photo and an honest message. Describing himself as “kind, happy, curious, creative and a major nerd,” the engineer invites any interested girl to fill out a Google Form to learn more about him. Providing a small glimpse of his life, he desires for a serious relationship within the NYC subway network and also shares his views on family, religion and politics. Reports suggest that Mark Zuckerberg led tech organisation charges anywhere from $5 to $50,000 (approximately Rs 400 to Rs 41 Lakh) a week for ads.

He wrote, “This is a personal dating ad. How embarrassing for me. But also (I hope) intriguing? I’m 33 years old, 6’3″, living in NYC (and a third-generation New Yorker). I work as a software engineer in the tech industry and I love what I do. I’m kind, happy, curious, creative and a major nerd. My aunt is certain that I’m ‘quite a catch.’ At the most basic level, I’m looking to meet a woman who is open to a serious relationship and lives within the reach of the NYC subway network. I think I relate best to people who are some kind of engineer/scientist/nerd, but also have an interest in the humanities and don’t dismiss non-technical knowledge as useless. Still intrigued? Tap the button to learn more and get in touch.”

Clicking on the Google link provided by Michael opens a window into his life for partners. Revealing more about himself, the engineer makes it clear that he’s not into Cryptocurrency and even distanced himself from Joe Rogan, Andrew Tate and Elon Musk related things. Most importantly, to build trust, Michael makes it clear that this is not a scam and he’s serious about finding love in Facebook Marketplace.

Further, Michael elaborated on his love for video games and mentioned that he appreciates various games and doesn’t limit himself to a single title for a long period. His favourites include titles like Baba is You, Breath of the Wild, Oxygen Not Included, Disco Elysium, Inscription, Tunic and Kentucky Route Zero.

Sharing his journey into programming, he recounted that he initially fell in love for making games during his time in high school. However, as he delved deeper into the gaming industry, he discovered that it was “horrible, abusive and pays terribly.” As a result, he opted for a comfortable tech job. Despite this, Michael is still passionate about making games development and stated that if finance was not an issue, he would love to start his own game studio, where he’ll prioritise his time in making quality games along with fair compensation and a non abusive work environment for its employees.
