US Woman's FB Hunt For Husband Who Ghosted Her Turns Internet into Sherlock Holmes
A woman from the US shared a Facebook post to 'hunt' for her estranged husband who ghosted her during pregnancy. Here's what happened.

A woman from Massachusetts named Ashley McGuire is on a mission to find her husband, who disappeared without a trace while she was pregnant. Her plea for help went viral on Facebook, but the post has since been taken down. Ashley’s husband, Charlie, apparently left her when she needed him the most, claiming he wanted a different life and even changed his contact details.

The story caught fire when an ‘X’ user shared a screenshot, sparking the interest of the entire internet. “This is my husband, Charles Withers. He loves to be the centre of attention but I’m not sure how much he’s going to like this,” wrote Ashley in the post she shared with the popular Facebook group “Are We Dating the Same Guy” last Saturday. “Last year, when I was pregnant with our youngest baby, he decided being a husband and a dad wasn’t the lifestyle he wanted anymore and he ghosted, like gone without a trace.”

Ashley is now trying to divorce Charles (who now calls himself Charlie), and in her quest to find him, she turned to the internet for help. “If you know him, if you’re working with him, if you’re dating him or friends with him, can you please have him get in touch with me or let me know where I can find him,” she pleaded.

Since then, thousands of people have rallied around Ashley, with many online detectives bringing out the Sherlock Holmes in them and joining the hunt for Charlie. Some have already identified Charlie’s alleged Twitter account and messages about his reported Bumble account.

In a surprising turn of events, less than 24 hours after Ashley’s initial plea, several women in the Texas branch of the “Are We Dating the Same Guy” Facebook group came forward, claiming they had matched with Charlie on dating apps, according to a viral TikTok clip.

“I matched with him on Bumble just a few weeks ago,” said one, according to a screenshot.

But wait, there’s more. It turns out Charles isn’t just any ordinary guy; he’s a renowned chef who even graced the screens in a 2022 episode of the reality TV show “Chopped” on The Food Network.

Fast forward, less than 24 hours after Ashley’s plea went viral, she dropped an update, revealing she’s received enough information to track down her estranged husband. “I’ve gotten more than enough information to locate him,” the grateful mom shared in a follow-up Facebook post. “I have literally hundreds of messages to sort through, some with information and some with support, and I appreciate all of them,” she added.
