USA cricketer Saurabh Netravalkar needs no special introduction. Netravalkar has shown impeccable bowling skills during the ongoing T20 World Cup. With Team USA qualifying for Super 8, Netravalkar has extended his gratitude towards his company Oracle for supporting him. Netravalkar works as a software engineer in that multinational technology firm besides playing for the national team. Pursuing multiple professions parallelly must be a challenging task for any person. For Netravalkar, however, it looks quite seamless. Despite holding a senior position at a major company like Oracle, the 32-year-old pacer has managed to make a unique identity as a cricketer in the international circuit. Netravalkar has been a key component of the USA side featuring in the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup. He has taken four wickets in his three appearances at the mega event.

After the USA qualified for the Super Eight round, Oracle congratulated Saurabh Netravalkar, highlighting the historic feat. “So proud of our very own AI engineer and cricket star Saurabh Netravalkar and USA Cricket for making history in the T20 World Cup.” Netravalkar’s one of the best performances came in a group league match against India. He demonstrated his quality with the new ball and claimed the crucial wickets of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

The USA fast bowler also responded to the post and thanked Oracle for letting him continue his cricket dream alongside his job. “Thank you so much, Oracle for your support in enabling me to pursue my passion alongside my tech career!”

The post has grabbed the attention of many cricket fans, who feel Oracle must give Saurabh Netravalkar a good appraisal for his accomplishments in the game of cricket. One of them was quick to brand him as the “greatest part-time cricketer ever.”

“Work from stadium culture begins here”, quipped a fan.

A user found Saurabh Netravalkar’s story quite heart-warming. “An Engineer taking up a tech career but not leaving the passion on Cricket. Representing the country at the highest level is the icing on the cake,” he wrote.

Speaking about how Saurabh Netravalkar manages to balance his tech profession and cricket career, his sister Nidhi earlier said, “He’s been very fortunate to have people who have always supported him throughout his career. He knows that when he’s not playing cricket, he has to give 100 percent to the job. So right now, when he’s working, he carries his laptop everywhere. And he has the freedom to work from anywhere,” as quoted by Moneycontrol.

Saurabh Netravalkar kicked off his cricket career in India before moving to the US in 2015. He represented the Indian U-19 team in the 2010 World Cup, sharing the dressing room with players like KL Rahul, Jaydev Unadkat and Mayank Agarwal. Netravalkar began the second innings of his career as part of the USA cricket team in 2019.
