Video Of Indonesia’s Mount Ruang Volcano Eruption Is Breathtaking Yet Terrifying

The Mount Ruang volcano in Indonesia erupted for the second time in two weeks on April 30, spewing ash for about 2 kilometres into the sky. The devastating eruption led to the closure of an airport and hit nearby villages with debris. In view of the volcanic eruption, the Indonesian geological service has issued an alert level for the volcano on Sulawesi Island. This is the second time in two weeks that a warning has been raised for the volcano. The authorities have asked the residents of the island as well as climbers to stay at least 6 km from the crater of the erupting volcano, as it can be extremely dangerous for them.

Due to the volcanic eruption, the authorities decided to close the airport due to the reduction in visibility and the dangers that are posed to aircraft engines by the ash. As reported by AP News, ash, grit, and rocks were seen falling from the sky, affecting the nearby towns and cities across the region. One of the regions that got the most affected was Manado, a city that has around 4.3 lakh people residing there. It was found that the local population of the city had to switch on the headlights of their vehicles in broad daylight due to the smoke. As of now, no casualties have been reported in the area.

Some of the videos of the volcanic eruption were shared on various pages on the microblogging platform X (formerly Twitter). A recent clip was captioned, “More incredible video of Ruang in Indonesia erupting. Breathtakingly terrifying!.” Many people were shocked to see the clip. A user wrote, “Terrifying. Hope everybody is safe.” Another commented, “The power of mother nature. So terrifying to see”.
