Watch: Cars Wade Through Waterlogged Roads In Bengaluru's Manyata Tech Park
The traffic situation on the Hebbal flyover got worse during the peak hours as cars formed a long queue.

Heavy rains lashed the Bengaluru city on Tuesday morning, flooding roads in the Manyata Tech Park area. The situation inside the 300-acre tech village was concerning, with all four wheels of cars underwater navigating through the submerged streets.

Techies, who came to the office ignoring the weather conditions, had to struggle. Some social media users kept dropping updates about road congestion and traffic movement to help their fellow office-goers.

An X handle named North Bangalore Post shared a video of Manyata Tech Park where cars were captured navigating through waterlogged streets. The caption of the post read, “The roads in Manyata tech park on the ORR Bengaluru is under water. With rains continuing without a break from 3 am, expect more flooding in and around this area.”

The traffic situation on the Hebbal flyover got worse during the peak hours as cars formed long queues. As per the Bengaluru-based weather bloggers, many employees chose to return home early to avoid the traffic congestion. Bengaluru Weatherman suggested that officegoers should leave whenever possible as heavy rain would continue for “2-3 hours.”

A user expressed his discontent over the infrastructure of the Manyata Tech Park, especially when it rains. “Truly third-class infrastructure is getting exposed, which is otherwise hidden beneath the shiny glasses & tall structures. It has always been like this & there won’t be any change in it that’s assured,” shared a person.

An individual shared glimpses of the roads in front of the tech village. Amid heavy downpours, the traffic movement remained quite slow.

“The natural flow and contours of the area will never change. The water which used to end up in the rain now ends up on the road. Can’t help that. This is the result of visionless planning and development,” a user noted.

As per the Indian Meteorological Département, Bengaluru will continue to witness more rainfall over the next few days. The situation will remain the same from October 14 to October 17. Apart from the main city, neighbourhoods in Bengaluru rural, Chikballapura and Kolar districts will also receive heavy showers.
