Watch: Chinese Man Balances Sewing Machine On Glass Bottles
Hailing from eastern China's Shandong province, Wang Yekun became an online star in his home country due to his captivating videos.

A Chinese man named Wang Yekun, an electrician by occupation spends many hours balancing various objects on top of each other. From old sewing machines on upright glass beer bottles to large gas cylinders balanced precariously on slim metal keys, there seems to be nothing Wang Yekun can’t use for his impressive balancing acts.

Yekun started balancing as a hobby in 2017 and only shared his achievements on social media three years later. He has been doing it constantly since then and now has several million online fans on TikTok alone.

Hailing from eastern China’s Shandong province, Yekun became an online star in his home country thanks to his captivating videos, which also include the process of trying things out. His balancing attempts have often resulted in dozens of bottles breaking, and other times, artworks he spent hours working on have collapsed just before completion.

In the end, however, Wang always achieved his goal no matter how many times it took, and it was his dedication and commitment that drew people to his art. “Balancing life is an art, sometimes serious and sometimes funny,” Wang once said. “Share the balancing technique every day, let everyone experience the magic of the world in laughter!” he added.

In addition to inanimate objects, such as a bicycle supported by three glass bottles, Wang Yekun also specialises in dynamic installations that involve people sitting on seemingly falling chairs. Even if balancing objects isn’t necessarily your thing, you have to admire Wang Yekun for the sheer patience it takes to create his crazy installations, and the determination not to give up when things collapse at the last moment.

Besides, a 76-year-old man from Derbyshire, UK has attempted to break the world record for the most wine glasses balanced on his head – with an impressive stack of 350 glasses. A small crowd gathered at Trowell Garden Centre in Nottingham on December 4 to watch John Evans’ record attempt. Evans already holds several Guinness World Records for balancing objects on his head, including pint glasses, balls and even bricks.
