Many people enjoy visiting old, abandoned places to uncover their history, but some locations are too daunting. Recently, a video featuring an urban explorer and ghost hunter Moxley, who goes into derelict buildings to unveil their secrets, went viral. In this particular video, he visited an old hospital named Meanwood Park Hospital in Leeds, England. Moxley shared the video titled “This Mansion is So HAUNTED Even the Police Refuse to Enter" on his YouTube channel, Moxley’s Paranormal World.
The video begins with his device telling him that there’s evil everywhere. Then he shows the scary staircases and furniture. The walls inside the hospital are broken and various items are scattered around. Moxley mentioned that while he was filming the hospital with a drone from outside, police arrived. They did not approach or question him, nor did they enter the premises. They simply observed and then departed. “The police have pulled up outside they saw me standing there while I was doing the drone footage," he shared.
Meanwood Park Hospital was built in the 1760s. It was transformed into a residence for people with learning disabilities in 1919. Stories of a rigid regime and harsh punishments for minor infractions have surfaced from those who once lived there. Both staff and patients claimed to have seen the spirit of a woman wandering the mansion’s grand staircase late at night. Moxley himself thought he heard the echo of footsteps and perhaps the rustle of a woman’s dress as he explored the rundown hall.
Moxley used several advanced smartphone apps with sensors that helped him detect something eerie in the hospital. While exploring one of the many spooky corridors, Moxley received a spine-chilling message through one of his devices: “There’s evil everywhere." The voice further guided him to dig at a specific spot. It seemed someone else had already started digging, as there were beginnings of a hole in one wall.
The smartphone app he was using also suggested that something or someone might be buried beneath the floorboards. The boards were unsafe to walk as it was damaged by dampness and woodworms and could have collapsed at any moment. His companion was investigating on the other side of the hospital and shared his side of the story as well.
