Bike stunts by youngsters are a common affair nowadays and such incidents often follow police intervention. In a recent video that has gone viral, a man can be seen performing a dangerous stunt on his bike. But what caught the attention of viewers was the presence of as many as three police officials in the video.

The incident took place at the Ganga Barrage in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur. According to police, the biker has been slapped with a fine of Rs 5,000 for his actions.

The clip begins with a young man riding a bike, wearing a maroon-coloured shirt. Soon, two police persons enter the frame who, too, ride a bike and seem to try and chase the man. The youth, on the other hand, can then be seen performing a wheelie stunt in which the front wheel of the bike is raised so that the vehicle is balanced on its rear wheel for a brief period.

The 10-second reel also captures another cop who rides a bullet and appears like a senior police official. He, too, can be seen following the biker before the video ends. The reel has a Punjabi song being played in the backdrop.

“Don’t know when these boys of Kanpur will improve. There is no fear of police either. This Ganga Barrage Bridge should not have been built. Everyone does stunts on bikes daily or keeps making reels on Instagram,” the caption read.

Soon after the video surfaced online, Nawabganj Police in Kanpur initiated a probe into the matter and nabbed the biker performing the stunt. He was fined under the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Central RS Gautam confirmed the punishment and added that a team of police personnel comprising a Sub-Inspector (SI) has been deployed for constant surveillance of the area between 7 am to 4 pm. CCTV cameras have also been installed in the area to keep a check on similar acts.

Social media users, too, reacted to the matter with one thanking the police officer for taking necessary action against the man. Another individual, however, pointed out that one of the patrolling cops didn’t wear a helmet himself.
