With technology advancing at an unrelenting pace and replicating life, a recent viral video featuring a robotic dog walking around an open park has caused a stir among pet enthusiasts. This futuristic pet, which looks eerily like something out of a sci-fi flick, has caused real-life dogs endless amusement when out for their daily stroll.
The video that went viral on X (formerly Twitter) begins with a cheerful chihuahua running toward the robotic dog. But the enjoyment does not last long. Discovering that its new companion is not nearly as warm and cuddly as it thought, the tiny pup is momentarily unsure of what to do, perhaps because the machine’s movements are so much like those of the real thing.
The robotic dog walks around the park and then locks its eyes on a border collie. But this experienced herding dog has no part in this bizarre interaction and shoos the machine in a rather embarrassing fashion. Unfortunately for the robo-dog, it doesn’t take long to become clear that there is no intention on the part of the collie to engage. After chasing the mechanical intruder for a short distance, the collie just turns away.

The reactions from the real dogs range from being surprised to comical.
With robo-dogs becoming part of daily life, many continue to debate the extent to which they can integrate into a world of humans and animals.
