The Jodhpur Police Commissionerate initiated a distinctive beginning to the year 2024, prioritising health and steering away from revelry. The traffic police, in collaboration with Jodhpur Dairy and Shri Ram Hospital, distributed milk to residents at major intersections of the city, emphasising well-being and discouraging intoxication. A significant number of people were witnessed enjoying milk at various locations in the city. As part of the campaign, the police conveyed a unique message to the public, planning and promoting the event well in advance through large hoardings placed across Jodhpur.
With the assistance of Bhamashahs, the police embraced the New Year by distributing milk to the public at key intersections and roads in the city, urging them to refrain from alcohol consumption. The new theme, coined by the police as ‘Welcome the New Year with milk and not with alcohol,’ received commendable cooperation. Police personnel took charge of the arrangements at various locations.
The Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police, Bhopal Singh Lakhawat, shared that a campaign, supported by Bhamashahs, was initiated to encourage celebrating the New Year with milk rather than alcohol. Milk was distributed at major intersections of the city, including Jalori Gate, Railway Station, Pavata Circle, Khet Singh Tiraha, and more. Beyond designated areas, people were invited to milk stalls, resulting in a substantial crowd. Some individuals not only consumed the milk on the spot but also brought buckets and kettles to take it home.
A groundbreaking event, led by Bhopal Singh Lakhawat, ACP Narendra Dayma, Sardarpura police station officer Pradeep Daga, and Dr Sunil Chandak, took place for the first time. Alongside, a unique milk distribution occurred at the Riktiya Bhairuji intersection, where police personnel exclusively fed milk to the public. Jodhpur Dairy and the Police Commissioner collaborated to organise this noteworthy event, gaining significant attention as an unprecedented police initiative during the New Year celebrations.
