Foreign heads of state and ministers congratulated India on its 75th Republic Day, celebrated nationwide and at Indian missions abroad on January 26. From dressing in different ethnic attires to dancing to the tunes of Bollywood songs, foreign missions celebrated the day in Indian style.
French President Emmanuel Macron, who is the chief guest at the Republic Day parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital, extended wishes on social media. “My dear friend @NarendraModi, Indian people, My warmest wishes on your Republic Day,” he wrote on X.

In a statement issued on Friday, Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese extended warm wishes to the people of India. “On our shared national days, we have an opportunity to celebrate the depth of our friendship. Australia and India have never been closer,” he wrote on X.

Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong also took to X to extend her best wishes to the people of India and communities around the world celebrating Republic Day. “Australia and India share a deep friendship. I look forward to catching up with @DrSJaishankar when Australia hosts the Indian Ocean Conference in Perth next month,” she said.
US State Secretary Antony Blinken on Friday hoped to deepen the “vibrant people-to-people ties between India and the US. In a statement, he said the past year has been marked by important milestones in “our Comprehensive Global and Strategic Partnership, including our cooperation throughout India’s successful G20 Presidency and at the G20 Leaders’ Summit.”

Dressed in different attires, officials of the Israeli mission in New Delhi wished the people of the country on Republic Day in several Indian languages. “This year, our team of @IsraelinIndia embraced the spirit of India’s #RepublicDay, a celebration of our shared values & diversity. Watch our diplomats don traditional attire from various Indian regions as they extend heartfelt wishes in regional languages,” the Israeli mission wrote on X.
The Indian Embassy in Tokyo held the Republic Day celebration on Friday. India’s Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George, unfurled the tricolor at the Indian mission.

Russian Ambassador Denis Alipov extended greetings while referring to India’s vision of Amrit Kaal.” The term was first used by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2021 during the 75th Independence Day celebrations. In a video shared on X, Russian children and adults perform a blend of Bollywood and Russian traditional dances, adorned in colorful attire.

75th Republic Day
India is celebrating its 75th Republic Day today, honouring the adoption of the Constitution of India. New Delhi is all decked up to witness the grand parades on the famous Kartvya path, featuring the participation of the Indian armed forces and paramilitary organisations.
Macron arrived at Kartavya Path to attend the event as the chief guest. The two-day visit of Macron began in Jaipur on Thursday where he was joined by PM Modi. The French President was then escorted to New Delhi for the Republic Day celebrations. The Republic Day Parade started at 10:30 am from Vijay Chowk to Kartavya Path.
