Two people died and one got injured in Bronx, New York after gunfire erupted in the mostly Black and Hispanic neighbourhood’s University Height area on Friday.
A 36-year-old male and a 44-year-old female were both shot in the chest at 2290 Davidson Ave around 12:15 am, according to the New York Police Department. The third victim, a 40-year-old male, was shot in the right arm, the New York Post reported.
This shooting was reported a day after former US President Donald Trump addressed a historic rally on Thursday in the Democratic party stronghold.

US media said all three victims were transported to St. Barnabas Hospital in Belmont, about a mile away from the scene. Police said both victims shot in the chest were pronounced dead at the hospital. It added the 40-year-old shot in the arm was listed in stable condition.
So far, no arrests have been made while police probe a motive for the deadly shooting. According to The Post, two men dressed in all black were reportedly spotted fleeing the scene on a red moped around the time of the shooting and are considered to be suspects.
