A 6.0 magnitude earthquake jolted parts of Pakistan on Thursday, according to the country’s meteorological department.
The epicenter of the quake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) posted on X.

The 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck at 2:20 pm (local time) in the Hindu Kush region at a depth of 213 kms. Afghanistan was rattled twice by quakes of Magnitude 6 and above since October last year.
Tremors were felt in the capital Islamabad, Lahore and its surrounding areas, and parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, DawnNewsTV reported. Last week, the city of Quetta and its surrounding areas were jolted by an earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale.
The epicentre of the 6.4-magnitude earthquake was in Jurm district in the Afghan province of Badakhshan in the mountainous Hindu Kush region, according to the US Geological Survey. There were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
It struck just before 2:00 pm and was felt in the capital Kabul, about 300 kilometres from Jurm. Afghanistan is frequently hit by earthquakes, especially in the Hindu Kush mountain range, near the junction of the Eurasian and Indian tectonic plates.
