A Korean Air passenger plane collided with Cathay Pacific planes at a Japanese airport on Tuesday.

The accident reportedly occurred at around 5:30 pm local time at New Chitose Airport in Hokkaido during a blizzard-like condition on the tarmac, The Sun reported.

According to the publication, it is yet to be known if there are any injuries on either of the planes, but there were 289 passengers on the Korean Air plane and none on the Cathay Pacific.

More than 46 flights have been cancelled on Tuesday alone due to the snowy conditions in the region.

This comes just days after a Japanese Coast Guard aircraft was struck by a passenger plane at Tokyo’s Haneda International Airport. It was later reported that the aircraft was instructed only to “taxi to holding point” and had not been cleared for takeoff, an official transcript of air traffic control communications released Wednesday suggested.

Live footage on public broadcaster NHK showed the JAL Airbus A350 (9201.T), (AIR.PA) airliner burst into flames as it skidded down the tarmac shortly before 6 p.m. (0900 GMT).
