After Iran had fired a barrage of drones and missiles at Israel, pro-Palestinian protests were witnessed in many parts of the United States including Illinois, California, New York and the Pacific Northwest.

The protests temporarily shut down travel in some airports and highways with high traffic. Protestors in Manhattan waved the banner of Hezbollah and chanted “Death to America”.

According to a ‘New York Post’ report, at least one masked activist was spotted holding Hezbollah’s flag emblazoned with the image of an assault rifle with ‘The Islamic Resistance in Lebanon’ written on it. Another activist was seen burning the US flag in New York City.

Some people gathered on the streets to protest against the pro-Hezbollah demonstrations.

In Chicago, protestors linked arms and and blocked lanes of Interstate 190 leading into O’Hare International Airport calling it a global “economic blockade to free Palestine.”

When an NYPD officer tried to put some distance between the pro-Palestine demonstrators and counterprotesters, a man holding a defaced Israeli flag riddled with holes yelled, “Israel is a pariah state” a New York Post report said.

Iran had launched a swarm of explosive drones and fired missiles at Israel in its first-ever direct attack on Israeli territory on Sunday.

According to a video tweeted by an assitant professor at a US university, the protestors were seen bashing the United States for supporting Israel. The professor also urged that it “should be investigated by New York State’s attorney general”.

According to the Israel Defence Forces, Iran used 185 drones, 36 cruise missiles and 110 ballistic missiles in its attack. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) strikes came after it blamed Israel for an attack on the consular section of the Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria, on April 1.
