British motorcycle manufacturer, Triumph has launched its much awaited 2017 Tiger explorer XCx in India at Rs 18.75 lakh. The 2017 Tiger Explorer is already on sale abroad and is available in six different variants across the XR and XC range. The new 2017 model of uses an updated 1,215cc inline 3-cylinder engine that now delivers more power and churns out 137 bhp and 123 Nm.
Keeping heavy off-road in focus, the XC-series model gets a 19-inch front wheel and three riding modes - Road, Rain and Off-road along with traction control and ABS that change as per the mode selection. It also gets a hydraulic torque assist clutch to reduce lever effort and riding fatigue. The bike also comes with cruise control and an electronically adjustable screen.
The new 2017 Triumph Tiger Explorer will have limited units in India and will be available in three colours options - Jet Black, Crystal White and Lucerne Blue. The bike will compete with the likes of Ducati Multistrada 1200 S and BMW S 1000 XR.
