Skoda recently shared detailed sketches of the upcoming fourth-generation Superb in both Hatchback and Combi styles.
They also revealed that the global debut of this new model is scheduled for November 2.
The 2024 Skoda Superb retains its familiar silhouette, but recent sketches have unveiled exciting new exterior details. Skoda’s latest design language, Modern Solid, gives the car a crisp, bold and streamlined appearance that immediately grabs attention. While the classic Superb design is still recognizable, the new model features cosmetic enhancements, making it sharper and sportier.
The front fascia reveals a larger grille accentuated with chrome outlining, accompanied by an LED Matrix beam headlight cluster and redesigned bumper. The side profile features a simple yet elegant line running across the shoulder, hinting at the car’s aerodynamic prowess. The rear, adorned with sleeker LED lights and a revamped tailgate, echoes the sophistication reminiscent of Audi sedans.
Dimensionally, the 2024 Skoda Superb stands taller and longer than its predecessor, ensuring ample space for passengers. The Hatchback version measures 4,912 mm in length, while the Combi estate version comes in at 4,902 mm. Both versions share a wheelbase of 2,841 mm. Skoda’s dedication to aerodynamics is evident, boasting a commendable drag coefficient of 0.24 cd.
Inside the cabin, passengers can revel in increased headroom, facilitated by the revised dimensions. The interior showcases a futuristic 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, complemented by a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and intuitive rotary control dials. The gearshift lever’s relocation to the steering column allows for a clean and uncluttered centre console. Additionally, the Superb’s luggage capacity has been expanded to 645 litres.
In a significant leap forward, the 2024 Skoda Superb introduces mild-hybrid technology to its engine lineup, marking a first for the Superb series. Internationally, the Superb will be available with three petrol engines, two diesel engines and a new plug-in hybrid powertrain option.
All versions of the 2024 Skoda Superb will come with an automatic DSG transmission. The petrol and diesel variants will feature a 7-speed DSG, while the plug-in hybrid version will be equipped with a 6-speed DSG.
The lineup includes a 1.5-litre petrol TSI engine with mild-hybrid technology producing 150 bhp. The 2.0-litre TSI petrol engine offers 204 bhp, and its 4×4 version boasts 265 bhp. On the diesel side, the 2.0-litre TDI engine delivers 150 bhp, while its 4×4 counterpart provides 193 bhp. Additionally, the 1.5-litre plug-in hybrid variant achieves a combined power output of 204 bhp. In electric mode, this plug-in hybrid model can cover a distance of 100 km.
Skoda plans to release the new Superb in both sedan and station wagon versions globally. However, in the Indian market, only the sedan version will be available. The anticipated launch of the new Superb in India is expected by mid-2024.
