Akasa Air Announces Direct Flights to Ayodhya From Pune via Delhi from February 15

After Indigo and Air India Express, Akasa Air has announced direct flights to Ayodhya from Pune via Delhi. The flight services will start on February 15. The development will enhance the connectivity between Ayodhya and two major hubs.

The flights have been introduced for daytime travel during prime hours for passenger convenience. Travellers can book flights on Akasa Air’s website, or through multiple leading online travel agency (OTA).

The addition of Ayodhya to Akasa Air’s network is aligned with the airline’s commitment to strengthen its domestic operations and provide transportation links to travellers visiting the city at affordable fares.

Commenting on the announcement, Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air said, “Akasa Air was set up with a purpose to connect people, cultures and regions and the addition of Ayodhya to our growing network is a testament to our commitment. The city of Ayodhya has immense spiritual, religious, and cultural significance and by connecting it to two major hubs – Delhi and Pune we will provide ease of access to people travelling while also bolstering economic growth, trade, and regional development.”

Iyer said the airline company endeavours to provide customers with seamless travel options along with reliable operations and a warm customer experience at low fares.

Meanwhile, Air India Express on Tuesday started daily direct flight service connecting Gwalior and Bengaluru. The flight was flagged off in the virtual presence of Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, among others.

Earlier, the airline had started flights between Gwalior and Hyderabad. “Direct services from Gwalior to Delhi will also commence shortly with one-stop itineraries to many cities, including Ayodhya. We are proud to contribute to Gwalior’s growth story, and this reinforces our commitment to enhancing connectivity in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities, the growth engines of New India,” Air India Express Managing Director Aloke Singh said in a statement.
