Bajaj Auto has made a new addition to its two-wheeler portfolio, launching the updated version of the Chetak scooter across the Indian market.
The new Chetak is offered in two variants– Urbane and Premium. While the Urbane version is available for roughly Rs 1 lakh, the Premium one is priced at Rs 1.35 lakh (ex-showroom).
The 2024 edition of the electric scooter comes with an optional feature called TecPac, which will offer customers several fascinating multimedia features.
Customers, who add this TecPac package to their Chetak, can also take benefit of several premium on-road services like turn-by-turn navigation, a Hill Hold mode and Sports mode. Another top feature of TecPac is Reverse mode, which is only available in the Premium Chetak.
By opting for this extra component, riders will get notifications and call alerts on the front panel. There is also an option to control the music application and customise the theme of the display, which now comes with a new colour option. Thanks to TecPac, the top speed of the Chetak will also increase to 73 kmph, while it is 63 kmph in the standard mode. The TecPac package is only available to buy online from the official website of Bajaj Auto.
The most highlighted feature of the all-new Chetak is a five-inch TFT screen, which was absent in the previous versions. The latest model also comes with a new 3.2kWh battery pack, which will offer a maximum range of 27 km. Meanwhile, the Premium version gets a high-power 800W charger, providing the scooter with a 15.6 km range within just 30 minutes.
Upon the launch of the new Chetak, Eric Vas, the President of Urbanite, said, “We take great pride in presenting a new and upgraded version of our class-leading electric scooter, the Chetak Premium 2024. The range is an excellent mix of style, functionality, and increased range, and it is a testament to why Chetak is a leader in the electric two-wheeler segment. We aim to keep updating the Chetak range and give our customers a superior riding experience. In its latest avatar, the Chetak Premium 2024 truly is fully ready for the perfect ride,” as reported by auto HT.
The other essential features of the Chetak include electronic handle and steering locks, seat switches, left and right control switches, self-cancelling blinkers and a lamp inside the helmet box, especially for riding at night. The Urbane trim of the electric scooter is available in four colours– Cyber White, Coarse Grey, Brooklyn Black and Indigo Metallic Blue, while the Premium version is offered in three options– Hazelnut, Indigo Blue and Brooklyn Black.
